rom 1996 to 2002 he was a part-time lecturer at University of Natal Pietermaritzburg (now UKZN) and the same time he managed the family business. In 2003 joined the University of Zululand as lecturer, was promoted to senior lecturer in 2013, associate Prof in 2015 and full Professor in 2020. I have successfully supervised 7 doctoral and 19 Master’s graduates. Since 2011 I have been a HoD (Economics). Since 2014 I have served as a Deputy Dean Research and Internationalisation for the Faculty of Commerce Administration and Law.

• BA.Soc.Sc (UNP); BA.Soc.Sc (UNP) Honours (Economics); MA.Soc.Sc (Economics) (UNP)*, DCom(Economics) (UNIZULU), PGDipHE (UKZN)
• University of Natal Pietermaritzburg, since 2004 it has incorporated into UKZN

• Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics and the political economy.
• The economics of entrepreneurship and innovation.
• The Microeconometrics of local economic development issues.

Professional membership:  Economics Society of South Africa.
