Mr M. Mpofu is a Faculty Manager in the Faculty of Commerce, Administration and Law since February 2019. His role entails, amongst others, provision of an academic administration support to the academic enterprise of the Faculty. Before he joined the University, he was an Assistant Director: Administration under the ambit of corporate services for 5 years. Mr Mpofu served Walter Sisulu Univesity in a number of positions in Registrar’s Division under Committee Administration and Managing the Faculty Office at the Faculty of Education as well as lecturing on a part-time basis in the Department of Public Administration from 2008 to 2014. Before he joined WSU, He was working at the University of Fort Hare in Alice Eastern Cape as Committee Officer under Registrar’s Division as 2006 to 2008.

He also served in 2 TVET Colleges, King Hintsa TVET (Butterworth) and Lovedale College (King Williams Town) as Academic Administrator and as a Lecturer respectively from 1997 to 2005. He has an overall experience and service of 20 years in public sector, in Further (TVET Colleges) as well as Higher Education Institutions(WSU & UFH) and Local Government (Mhlontlo Municipality) and 3 years experience of Lecturing at TVET Colleges lecturing the following modules: Office administration, HRM, Computer and Information practice and Management Communication, and at Higher Education institution lecturing the following Modules, Public Policy, Public Human Resource Management, Project Management, Municipal Administration.

He is currently pursuing Doctoral degree at UNIZULU under the supervision of Dr NN Jili and Prof RM Mthethwa. Thesis entitled: Participation of traditional leaders in municipal councils and their role in promoting municipal services in Mhlontlo and Engcobo Local municipalities in the Eastern Cape.
