Smangele completed her matric in 2007 in Mashiyamahle High School situated in Ndwedwe. In 2011, she graduated with a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology from Durban University of Technology (DUT) and in 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Office Management and Technology from DUT. The title of her BTech major project was; The importance of Information Administration as a major subject for OMT. In 2019, she then graduated with Masters of Management Science Degree specialising in Business Administration at the DUT. The title of her Dissertation was; An evaluation of youth entrepreneurial spirit in KZN particularly iLembe District Municipality.

Employment: Immediately when she completed her three months Inservice Training with Advanced Computer Modelling and Manufacturing project at Dut in 2010 June , she found contract employment under the Faculty of Applied Sciences as the Administrative Faculty Assistant where she served from 07 June 2010 to 30 September 2012.

She then found permanent employment as the Departmental Secretary under the Department of Public Management, Law and Economics in PMB Campus from 01 October 2012 to 30 September 2016. This position allowed her to gain experience in academic coordination, ability to lead and work within a multi-disciplinary setting since these Departments catered servicing subjects across various Faculties within DUT. Smangele was employed by the Department of Higher Education and Training to serve as a Personal Assistant to the College Principal of UMgungundlovu TVET College from 01 October 2016 to 31 July 2017. This position allowed her to understand the core mandate of Higher Education and Training at it’s large, understanding the Public Sector environment and it’s regulations, policies and acts since she was also a Secretariat of Council and Committee Meetings of the College.

Currently (from 01 August 2017 to Date), Smangele is employed by the University of Zululand as a Faculty Officer in Commerce, Administration and Law. Her job description necessitates:Monitoring academic programme matters such as degree, diploma, certificate content, curricula and changes approved by Faculty Board, Senate and Implementation. Guide and assist students with applications. Keeping records of students applications for credits. Coordination of undergraduates examination committees. Handle academic matters and referring curriculum decisions to academic staff where specialised input is required.

Studying and Research Interests: Smangele aims to further her studies up to a Doctoral Degree level and her research interests are in Entrepreneurship Education and Youth Entrepreneurship.
