Lizelle Ramaccio Calvino is a senior lecturer at the University of Zululand. She obtained her B. Proc from UP and practised law, specialising in matrimonial litigation for more than 15 years before pursuing a career in academia.

She obtained a MBA with a specialisation in occupational health and safety and qualified as a safety and environmental officer with NOSA. Whilst consulting companies on legal and environmental compliance, she furthered her academic qualifications by obtaining her LLM and her LLD.

She currently lecturers inter alia Family Law, Law of Persons, Matrimonial Litigation and Forensic Medicine.

She has presented various papers on family and child law related topics at national and international conferences and published in the field of family law and constitutional law. As part of her commitment to enhancing legal consciousness she is actively involved with community engagement as a faculty representative. She serves on various committees and is a member of council.
